VKTRY Insoles Review: Are They Worth It for College Volleyball Players?

NOT a Sponsored Post — This review is based on my personal experience. I am not receiving any commission from purchases.

As a college volleyball player, I’m constantly looking for anything that can give me an edge—whether that’s training harder, eating right, or investing in new gear. Volleyball is a sport that demands explosive power, quick reflexes, and endurance, all while putting a ton of strain on your body, especially your knees, ankles, and feet.

I have been using VKTRY insoles for 5 years now, they are carbon fiber insoles designed to improve athletic performance and reduce injury risk. From wearing them these last few years, during practices and games, I have some thoughts—both good and bad—for any athlete considering adding them to their routine.

The Pros: Performance, Protection, and Recovery

Noticeable Boost in Jump Performance

One of the first things I noticed wearing the VKTRY insoles was how springy my jumps felt. These insoles are designed to store and release energy, and I could definitely feel the difference when going up for blocks or hitting. Over time, it felt like I was using less effort to get off the ground, which made a huge difference, especially late in games or long tournaments.

Reduced Leg and Foot Fatigue

Volleyball involves endless jumping, sudden stops, and explosive sprints—my legs always feel it afterward. But while wearing VKTRY, I noticed less soreness in my calves, shins, and feet. They provided solid shock absorption, which helped reduce the constant pounding my body takes on hard courts.

Injury Prevention Benefits

Injuries are a constant concern at the college level. Personally, I’ve struggled with shin splints and knee pain. The VKTRY insoles promote better alignment and reduce impact stress, and I honestly felt a difference. My shins haven’t been flaring up as much, and I’ve been able to practice harder without that nagging pain setting in.

The Cons: Cost, Fit, and the Learning Curve

High Price Point

Let’s be real—VKTRY insoles are expensive. Depending on the model, they run over $150–$250. For a college athlete on a budget, that’s a serious investment. While I see the value they bring, the price could be a dealbreaker for some players who are already paying for gear, shoes, travel, and training.

Fit Takes Getting Used To

VKTRY insoles aren’t like your typical soft, squishy inserts. They’re stiff—thanks to the carbon fiber—and they definitely change the way your shoes feel. It took me a few practices to adjust, and at first, my arches felt a little sore. If you’re used to regular insoles, there’s a bit of a learning curve.

Sport-Specific Customization Can Be Tricky

VKTRY does customize your insole stiffness based on your weight, sport, and position, which is great—but it’s also something you have to get right. If the wrong stiffness is chosen, you might not get the full benefit or feel as comfortable. Thankfully, their customer service is solid if you need help, but it’s worth noting.

So, Are VKTRY Insoles Worth It for College Volleyball Players?

Overall, VKTRY insoles have been a game-changer for me—especially in terms of jump performance and recovery. I feel more explosive on the court and less worn down afterward, which is huge during a grueling season.

That said, they’re not for everyone. The price is steep, and they do take some getting used to. If you’re someone who’s serious about your performance, looking for an edge, or struggling with impact-related injuries, I’d say they’re worth considering. But if you’re just starting out or not ready to drop that kind of money, it might not be a necessary purchase—yet.

The writing was clear and structured, effectively balancing the pros and cons of VKTRY insoles. Personal anecdotes, like dealing with shin splints and adjusting to the fit, made it relatable, while the non-sponsored disclaimer added trustworthiness. The use of clear sections—Pros, Cons, and Overall Verdict—made it easy to navigate. Specific examples, like the boost in jump performance and injury prevention benefits, were engaging. While the tone was consistent, adding alternatives for budget-conscious athletes could enhance the review further, but that is more of a content suggestion than a critique. Loved reading and learning more about VKTRY insoles! ☺️

Hi Mia!

I truly loved how real and detailed this review was! As a college athlete, I totally get the struggle of finding gear that actually makes a difference. The breakdown of pros and cons was super helpful, especially the heads-up about the learning curve.

The performance boost and injury prevention sound like a game-changer, but yeah, that price is steep. Good to know the benefits make it worth for serious athletes. Also did you have to adjust your customization, or did they get it right the first time? Thank you for sharing once again!
